Why would we ever need to be protected by butterflies?
If you have been following along, you’ve probably understood our tone by now. And our most recent release is no exception. At first glance we look at a butterfly, an animal with a life span of two to four weeks. Compared to a human being's life span, we live the same amount of 1500 butterfly lives - that leads us to quickly reach the conclusion that butterflies are quite fragile at first glance!

Our newest thermal waffle long-sleeve's feature an oversized jacquard woven label that says “This person is protected by a butterfly” which sounds quite ironic, right? The fact is, a human has probably never been physically protected by a butterfly, however, indirectly, butterflies are great protectors of the human species, and this signals how much nature provides for us without us even knowing.
Butterflies are vital ecological guardians by pollinating food crops. Their pollination work is essential for sustaining the human food supply, including many fruits and nuts. Scientifically they act as bio-indicators of environmental health - their presence signals a healthy ecosystem.
Symbolically butterflies are linked to positivity, hope and better mental health. Their life stages are often used metaphorically for human life changes or spiritual transformations - the famous metamorphosis is a token cherished by many.

So honoring butterflies in a clothing piece is a reminder to not take small and delicate things for something less, or dispensable. Such small living beings have a huge shadow impact on our existence in this planet, and we should be grateful that we belong in such a complex intertwined system, which sometimes our rationality accidentally makes us forget that, because we’re on our daily rush, distracted from our very roots.
